“She’s the Chosen One: A Nick Story”

Date: Thanksgiving 2018.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….Nick was traveling to Magnolia Texas with his most trusted ally, his mom. Here they will encounter many challenges….food coma’s, bloated stomach’s, many new faces, and the greatest of all….the first Thanksgiving with Nick’s Queen and her royal family. This is Nick’s story of how one woman changed the trajectory of his life forever.

Great intro huh? S/o to all the star wars fans. Anyways, by this point, you should know when I asked Evelyn to be my girlfriend…but if you don’t, it was May 9th, 2018. It’s important for me to mention this because from that point (and really prior to that date as well), there were so many great memories me and Evelyn shared together that really started to make me question…”Is she the one?” The day it was no longer a question was our first thanksgiving spent together.

Now, I can’t remember the details of the exact moment when I realized that she’s the one. But I know how it felt and, somewhat, of what was going on. The moment was like the last piece of the puzzle, every moment was leading up to this fateful day, thanksgiving 2018. I look back now, and I can remember myself in one spot outside her house, at least 15 bodies outside with me but everyone doing their own thing…whether that was talking, singing, laughing, eating, or running around…..I looked around and from what I can remember it felt like time slowed down. And that’s when it hit me, “She’s the Chosen One.” Yes, I know Star Wars is awesome, but that’s not the point of this story

Me saying “time slowed down” may sound like an exaggeration, but have you ever just closed your eyes and tried to take yourself back to a certain memory? You may even say to yourself that time doesn’t feel the same so maybe you’ll understand where I’m coming from. And no, I didn’t think “she’s the chosen one” solely because her family is awesome. It was every moment prior to this point, as well as the Thanksgiving moment, that attributed to the realization. As I mentioned before, the last piece to the puzzle.

The entire journey to this specific day really showed me how vital a family connection between significant others can shape a relationship. Of course, it can go either way when that connection isn’t there, because I do know some people who can’t talk to their in-laws but still have a great relationship with their spouses. Point is, when the connection is there, like in mine and Evelyn’s case (and yes my family loves her too), it can be very beneficial for the relationship just as it was for me and Evelyn.

And I know what you may be thinking. It’s something me and Evelyn still hear from people till this day. You’re probably wondering why after just six-seven months of being together, her being my first real relationship, and us not even knowing each other for a year yet, why am I set on already making her mine forever?

The way I see it is that I was lucky enough to find my forever person on my first try. Not everyone finds love, and not everyone lives as long as I have, and even less live a long life. The fact that I was able to live this far to experience this means the world to me. I’m truly grateful for it all and just pray that I get to experience it all, and more, for many more years to come. Waiting to marry someone I know who is my true love would be wasting the time we could have living life together. And this is why from this point onward, I did everything in my power to propose to Evelyn.

Anyways, this my friends and fellow family members, is where Evelyn starts her new chapter in her life without even knowing it’s begun. It would be up to me to show her this fact, the fact that she is the chosen one that will bring balance to my life forever and ever 🙂

Awesome Question: Who do you think has the high ground?

P.S. Make sure to go to “3000: The Pre-Proposal” after this blog, thanks for stopping on by!
